A quick survey of mobile gaming marketing videos on YouTube reveals a wide range of creative approaches. But most are straightforward — a series of static screen grabs or ambient gameplay with the occasional title card thrown in to spice things up. So, what did we do? We told the story of GREE’s Alien Family by combining two interests of our audience: the warm, tactile quality of paper craft and the gamer’s affinity for real-life homages to their beloved digital heroes. Key aspects of the game, highlighted as cute hands, furry paws, and cuddly tentacles, lead us through a colorful cut paper universe.
